Awwhh, look at her cute toothless smile. My baby didn't grow up when she started Kindergarten last year. That practically didn't count. Even though she actually learn A LOT, I'm guessingg it was just playtime compared to first grade.
Today she started first grade. She took a homemade lunch because she doesn't want to eat the school's pizza. She rode her scooter to school (which I forgot to buy a lock for). She is using her Spongebob backpack again. It makes bubbly sounds when you squeeze it.
She grew up today because this is the first day of thousands where she will be gone at school, and eventually work, all day. That makes me sad to think of it that way. When I simply think that my tiny, little six year old is ecstatic to go to first grade and she will be back at 1:20, then I feel happy and excited for both of us.
I keep thinking about Wendy saying "....I have to grow up tomorrow." and Peter Pan yells "GROW UP!?...No, I won't have it." hahaha
Oh yes, and last night after visiting her classroom and teacher for the first time, she whined that "all the boys are in other classes" (referring to all her little neighborhood and kindergarten
Here she is so excited, she can't look straight at the camera.
She is so cute! I can't believe that you have a six year old! And that your sweet little six year old has started school! I hope all is well.
