Favorite book #1

I'm guessing MANY of you have read this, but if not, you should! It is so hard to put down. In my opinion it appeals to many different people. Here is the book description from http://www.suzannecollinsbooks.com/index.htm:

Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When her sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

Technically Hunger Games is a Young Adult book but I didn't even think about that fact as I was reading it. The main character, Katniss, is amazing. She is nothing like me even though I'm probably amazing too. I love the story and the messages it puts out there. Hunger Games definitely made me cry. What's scary is this could totally happen in real life! LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!
